5 Blissful Herbal Iced Teas for a Sensational Summer

Break out the flamingo floatie and grab your mineral-based SPF… it's summertime! And our DIY adult summer camp series will keep away the summer blahs. One essential you don’t want to leave off your summer checklist is a delicious recipe for herbal iced tea or a zesty herbal mocktail. 

Here are 5 blissful herbal iced tea recipes to keep your summer libations sensational:

Summer Travel Tummy Tea

Peppermint Mentha ×piperita: 2 parts

Fennel Foeniculum vulgare
seed: ½ part

Ginger Zingiber officinale root: ½ part 

Blend and steep one teaspoon per cup for 5-10 minutes. 

This recipe is perfect for soothing the belly before, during, or after travel. It’s delicious in a water bottle while you’re on the go, or make a batch of ice cubes (stored in an airtight container) and add to your water bottle as needed. Are you traveling this winter? This tea is just as delicious served hot.

Nettle Mint Refresher Iced Tea

Peppermint Mentha ×piperita or Spearmint Mentha spicata leaves (or combo): 1 part

Nettle Urtica dioica leaves: 1 part

Blend and steep one teaspoon per cup for 5-10 minutes or overnight for a stronger infusion.

This tea is delicious in a water bottle, or make a batch of ice cubes (stored in an airtight container), and add to your water as needed. Refreshing and cooling, this tea is a delicious replenishment for the hottest of summer days. 

Kava Kava Colada Mocktail 

Organic coconut water: 1 cup

Organic pineapple juice: 1 cup

Filtered water: 1 cup

Pineapple juice: ½ cup

Kava kava Piper methysticum root: 2 tablespoons

Grind one ounce of kava kava root in a coffee grinder to make a powder. Add two tablespoons of kava root powder to the rest of the ingredients. Blend together for five minutes in a blender or a cocktail shaker. Strain the liquid, chill, and enjoy over ice. This soothing and cooling mocktail is perfect for the next heat wave or your upcoming beach weekend.

SummerThyme Wellness Iced Tea

Thyme Thymus vulgaris: 1 part

Cinnamon Cinnamomum zeylanicum: 1 part 

Blend and steep one teaspoon per cup for 5-10 minutes. Add a sweetener of choice like organic raw sugar, stevia, or organic local honey.

This soothing and supportive summer wellness remedy is sure to make you shine inside and out.

Berry BeauTEAful Iced Tea 

Hawthorn Crataegus laevigata leaf and flower: 1 part

Hawthorn Crataegus laevigata berry: 1 part

Raspberry Rubus idaeus leaf: 1 part

Rosehips Rosa canina: 1 part

Licorice Glycyrrhiza glabra root: ½ part

Blend and steep one teaspoon per cup for 5-10 minutes.

This tea is delicious in a water bottle, or make a batch of ice cubes (stored in an airtight container), and add to your water as needed. This tea is just as delicious served hot.
