ACHS Advanced Aromatherapy Student Creates Essential Oil Blends

Written by Dorene Petersen, ACHS Founding President | Feb 21, 2023 11:33:42 PM

Sixteen students engaged in a transformational aromatherapy learning experience and a rare opportunity to learn from renowned aromatherapy expert and American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS) Founding President Dorene Petersen and ACHS Aromatherapy Program Chair and Registered Aromatherapist Amanda Lattin at a workshop in Kona, Hawaii from November 4-9 in 2018.

Dale graduated from ACHS’s Aromatherapy Certificate Course in 2004.  She tells us, “I attended the ACHS Kona Aromatherapy Boot Camp because I especially wanted to learn what is new in aromatherapy and get a refresher in some of the basics of blending. I was also able to earn the Continuing Education credits offered. After completing the workshop, the extra bonus for me was spending time with my son Adam who is a resident of Hawaii.”

Dale holds a BS in Agronomy/crop science from the University of Maryland. While studying for her MS in Holistic Nutrition at the Clayton College of Natural Health, she completed an elective in Aromatherapy. This sparked her interest. After obtaining her Holistic Nutrition degree, Dale enrolled in the one year ACHS Aromatherapy Certificate program to obtain more comprehensive training in aromatherapy.  Although she enjoys the art and science of blending, Dale is also interested in growing plants for their essential oils. She started offering her original blends of muscle rubs, air fresheners and remedies for sale in 2002 and does so currently through her business Winchester Aromatherapy LLC. Her business website is www.winchesteraroma.com.  She can also be reached at dmwatten@gmail.com.
