From the timeless cap and gown regalia to the momentous procession across the stage, each ritual embodies the spirit of academic excellence. From the beginning of the ceremony with the processional of graduate candidates to their seats to the final moment when they turn their tassel, commencement is a day that marks the beginning of putting knowledge into practice. 

Participating in the Botanical Walk

One day prior to this year’s graduation ceremony, all graduates, students, and their friends and family are invited to attend the second annual Botanical Walk. This enchanting and educational experience will take place on Thursday, June 13th, from 2-4 pm PDT at the Hoyt Arboretum in Portland. Professor Amanda Lattin, Dean of Aromatherapy, and Dr. Judith Thompson, Dean of Herbal Medicine, will lead a stroll through the lush gardens and uncover the secrets of botanicals and aromatherapy. The Botanical Walk provides the opportunity to connect with nature and the ACHS community in a serene and inspiring setting before the commencement celebration.
