With online education, you have the freedom to learn from anywhere in the world. Here are 5 more reasons why online education is a great opportunity.

At ACHS, we offer holistic health, nutrition, aromatherapy, and herbal medicine courses that will equip you with solid, evidence-based knowledge that can open new doors to a career in wellness. When you choose to learn with ACHS, you'll get access to any of these courses, all entirely online.

But why choose online education? Being able to learn from anywhere in the world is an obvious benefit, but here are five more reasons why online education might be right for you.

Reason 1: Flexibility in Location and Schedule

Online education is a great alternative to on-campus learning if flexibility is a high priority in your life. Many ACHS students are able to complete their programs while also working full-time and caring for their families.

Kristy Bowers, an ACHS alumni who recently launched her own business, The Sage Moose, loved her online educational experience in the Associate of Applied Science in Complementary Alternative Medicine program (now the Associate of Applied Science in Integrative Health Sciences).

Kristy says, “I loved everything about it - from the original phone call to learning in an online forum. There is a stigma that you would not get the same experience as you might from in-person classes. However, my classes and labs exceeded my expectations.”

Reason 2: Save on Transportation

Another benefit of online courses is that you can spend more time doing what you want. With no daily commute to and from campus, you’ll save on gas, and you can spend driving time on your studies or other daily necessities.

As shown during the COVID-19 pandemic, online classes are also useful for continuing your education in a healthy environment. No more catching colds from a sneezing classmate! With a lower risk of sick days, you’ll be able to continue your education with fewer interruptions to your learning.

Reason 3: Choose the College You Want, Not the College That’s Close

When you take courses online, you can choose a college to which you may not otherwise have access. Not everyone has a physical college campus with holistic health courses nearby, and ACHS is happy to provide a high-quality education option to students around the world.

Shamoneak Gibson-Thomas is the perfect example of an ACHS student who chose an ACHS education to support her long-term goals. Shamoneak is currently completing her Master of Science in Aromatherapy while simultaneously getting certified as a Pilates Instructor and running her own business, Krazy Essentials.

Shamoneak says, "ACHS is a great choice for those interested in exploring complementary and alternative medicine. With a wide range of programs and courses, students can gain in-depth knowledge and practical skills in various areas of holistic health."

Reason 4: Inspiring and Supportive Instructors From Around the World

At ACHS, we have an amazing faculty of experts who are always there for support. Our instructors intentionally go above and beyond to engage and assist our students. Here’s what one of our current students has to say about their experiences in the classroom.

Jennifer Brooks, who completed her Master of Science in Complementary and Alternative Health in 2020 and is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Science in Integrative Health program, says, “I love the community at ACHS. The faculty, the professors, and the students are fully invested in each other and the successes of all involved. I truly value my education and my time here. Past, present, and future!”

Reason 5: Learn the Skills to Change Your Life!

As an online college, ACHS empowers our students to help others and make a difference.

Alumni Andrea Vinson was recently awarded a grant to create natural products and support her natural hair and body products business, Products by Andrea. Her Associate of Applied Science in Integrative Health Science degree helped her pursue her mission of creating ethical and healthy natural products. Andrea says,  “Learn all you can from ACHS! This was the best education I've ever received. It actually prepares you for real-life situations."

Bonnie Pearce, who graduated with her Master of Science in Herbal Medicine in the Spring of 2024, says, “Little did I know when I started my journey at ACHS where it would lead me,” Bonnie says. “The knowledge of herbal medicine and nutrition, along with the confidence obtained during my studies at ACHS, has led me to help people change their lifestyles, health, and outlook for the future."
