Happy New Year! Our Resolution Is Your Success

Now that the holiday season and 2017 draw to a close, I’m filled with gratitude for all we’ve accomplished together this year. Every year, my resolution for ACHS is to make our student experience even more exceptional. This helps more people put our motto into action and live well; learn well; educate others.

One way we stick to this resolution is by listening to you: our students, graduates, and holistic health community. Here are three things coming up in 2018 that we’re thrilled to share with you:

Two * NEW * Bachelor Degree Programs

You asked; we listened. Our students have been asking about bachelor programs at ACHS for a long time. I’m excited to say, the wait is over! Starting in spring 2018, we’re launching two new, fully online bachelor degree programs in holistic health:

These bachelor programs impart integral integrative medicine skills and provide a highly experiential health and wellness education. I’m very excited to offer ACHS students these new programs so they can expand their wellness repertoire even further.

Exciting Developments at the ACHS Kona Campus

As an online college, our students are eager for in-person events and education. We thought, what better place to learn about holistic wellness than the island of Hawaii?!

This year, we opened a satellite campus in Kealakekua, Hawaii (near Kona). For 2018, our goal is to offer more on-site wellness workshops and classes to the local community, and training for students who want to study holistic health with industry experts in a face-to-face environment. The rich history of herbal medicine and the lush native plants on Hawaii offer inspiration for holistic health advocates. Keep an eye on our 2018 calendar for upcoming events!

In-Person Graduation Ceremony

You work tremendously hard to earn your holistic health credential—and we’re excited to honor that accomplishment at our annual graduation ceremony. ACHS held its first ever in-person graduation ceremony at the main campus in Portland, Oregon in October 2017. In our small conference room, we hosted over 30 guests, including our exceptional graduates. There were also over 100 graduates and attendees viewing the ceremony online via live stream.

In 2018, we will host another in-person graduation ceremony so you can celebrate your success with your fellow graduates, professors, and the whole ACHS team! Full details are forthcoming, so keep an eye on our events calendar.

Reflections on 2017

The end of December is also a time for reflection on the past year. Did we keep our resolution for 2017? I’m grateful to say that, with your feedback and support, this year brought exciting advancements for ACHS students. Here are just a few highlights:

  • Students traveled with me to southern India on an epic study tour adventure, studying Ayurveda, spices, silk, sandalwood, and experienced the rich rewards of giving back to the community when we visited Srishti, a center for the differently abled. The school, called DARE (Developmental Activities in Rehabilitative Education), was founded to assist the mentally and physically challenged children of the plantation workers in Munnar. You can see all the photo memories of our trip on Instagram by searching the hashtag #ACHSIndia.

You make our work here at ACHS fulfilling, and we wish you a New Year full of happiness, new goals, new achievements, and fresh inspirations.

Have a happy, healthy New Year,
