Robin Hasbrouck, a veteran of the United States Air Force, has accomplished many things in life, including training in both landscape design and real estate appraisal. But, her educational and life journey with the American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS) will be one of the most rewarding accomplishments of all, she says.

Hasbrouck, a student in ACHS’s accredited, online Diploma in Holistic Health Practice (HHP) program, is the most recent recipient of the ACHS Military Scholarship in partnership with Imagine America. Established for veterans with an honorable discharge who are no longer eligible to receive other education benefits, the ACHS Military Scholarship awards a one-time scholarship of $1,000 toward tuition.

“I am proud and honored that ACHS chose me for the Military Scholarship,” Hasbrouck says. “As a veteran, it means a lot to me to be recognized for my time in service in the USAF as a maintenance technician on F-15 fighter aircraft. This scholarship will definitely be a blessing financially to my family and help me towards my educational goals.”

Hasbrouck enrolled with ACHS as a result of her personal research into “a more holistic way” of working with her primary care physician. Hasbrouck and her husband both have chronic Lyme Disease, and the associated medical costs are immense, Hasbrouck says.

“In doing all this research and talking to other people, it became obvious to me that people need guidance in their lifestyle and nutritional choices,” Hasbrouck says. “We have to take our health into our own hands and do what we can to empower ourselves to live the best life we can, and then pay it forward. That is why I love ACHS. It is empowering me to be able to help others to live better, to feel better, and to love better.”

“Robin is a great role model for current and prospective students who want to pursue holistic health education and practice,” says Tracey Abell, ACHS Dean of Admissions. “Robin's enthusiastic to put the knowledge and skills learned at ACHS to work for herself and the health benefits of her community,” adds Abell.
